What is autistic spectrum disorder in children?

Autism spectrum disorder is a brain development disorder that consists of a mixture of different conditions like Asperger’s syndrome, childhood degenerative disorder or some unspecified pervasive development disorder.

A child with this disorder mostly has problems with interacting with people because of the difficulty in communicative activities. The child may be anti-social and may react aggressively to certain actions like touching or some distinct smell. He or she may also react differently to different foods like only eating some particular types of food or having vigorous reactions to certain food items.
Autism also affects a child’s academic power. He/she may be intelligent than their peers or may have difficulty grasping certain subjects but what is common is that their inability to express their knowledge and practically apply them to day to day use.

Autism has no cure as of this moment, but early therapy in language build-up classes and communication can help reduce the symptoms of the disorder. Therapy has proven to improve a child’s social communication skills and help them accommodate their surroundings more easily.

According to the best neurologist doctors in India autism is a brain development disorder that limits the spectrum of a child, but it does not make the child completely barren. In fact, many children with autism have shown greater academic success than normal children with no disorders. They only need good guidance and little help.
